Those wanting to take a tour of the new Education building after it opens will need to look no further than a special group of ambassadors.

“It is such an honor to be a part of the first group of student ambassadors able to give tours in the new building,” said Ainsley Watts, who will take the helm this fall as secretary of the college’s Student Ambassadors group, a leadership organization whose members serve as hosts and volunteers for the college, assist in the Dean’s Office and promote the college through other activities and events. “As the daughter of two Auburn graduates and teachers, being able to represent something so important to me means a lot.”

Watts is majoring in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies and will be among several student ambassadors leading tours of the three-story building that will promote a more unified identity for the college and will provide world-class learning spaces for the students passing through its halls.

Tours are set to begin this summer and will cover the highlights of what the new building has to offer, including labs, classroom spaces and the revamped Learning Resources Center. Future Student Ambassador President Kaylee Word, an exercise science major planning to attend physical therapy school, is eager to show that even students studying in the School of Kinesiology will benefit from the college’s new home.

“I am excited to show prospective students my love for Auburn and get them excited to be a part of the family here!” said Word. “Having a new building is a big step for the College of Education and will be so beneficial to all students in our college regardless of their specific major.”

When tours officially begin, they will be offered from 10am-12pm and from 1pm-3pm. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, prospective students and their guests will also have the opportunity to meet with the college’s recruiter and have additional questions answered. Tours are expected to last 20-30 minutes.

As details are set for booking building tours, they will be shared on the College of Education website. For more information or if you have any questions concerning visits to the College of Education please contact David Shamp (shampdg@auburn.edu).
